Biography

Necip Baykara (Ankara, 1979) is a Turkish photographer and mixed-media artist. He completed a graduate degree in Art Policies with a thesis titled “Influences of Oppressions and Deprivations on Western Art of Painting,” and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Art Science at Işık University. He received technical training in photography in Istanbul and Los Angeles, and co-taught the course “Photography and Visual Perception” with Prof. Dr. Nükhet Güz at Beykoz Logistics Vocational School. Baykara realized his first solo exhibition, “Unrelated,” in April 2015 at Çağla Cabaoğlu Gallery. His practice focuses on witnessing the “moment” without staging, inviting viewers to build their own narratives from familiar yet unfamiliar framings. He has participated in group shows with the gallery, including “Winter 2015 – New Works,” “Çağdaş Hikayeler” (2016, İzmir), and—among broader gallery programs—the 25th-anniversary exhibition “Resonance” (2025).
