About the Exhibition

Çağla Cabaoğlu Gallery takes its place in International Shanghai Asia Pacific Contemporary Art Fair which is open to visitors between the dates of September 9 – September 12 2010

Expected to have more than 30.000 visitors, 2010 SHANGHAI CONTEMPORARY fair will be attended by galleries from Asia, Europe and America, and it will be held concurrently with Shanghai World Expo, one of the biggest organizations in the world.

Within the fair, attendees are placed considering artist, work and exhibition qualification, and ÇağlA Cabaoğlu Art Gallery placed in the “Best of Galleries” section.

BOOTH CONCEPT: “THE TREE OF LIFE”

In Shanghai, growing as one of the best art markets in the world recently, under the concept headline of The Tree of Life, 16 Turkish Artist will take place in one of the largest booths in the fair, Çağla Cabaoğlu Art Gallery Booth with more than 60 of their works, prepared specially for the fair.

In “THE TREE OF LIFE” manifest written by Nilgün Yüksel;

The evolution of Turkish Contemporary art, process of development, the diversity created by the perspectives of the artists coming from different disciplines are brought to the agenda by consubstantiating them with the tree of life chronologically. She summarizes with these sentences; “It is not extraordinary to meet the surprising and novel in Turkey while digging deep. Thus, Turkish contemporary art is similar to a tree of life. Roots almost from everywhere, a tree of life, feeding from every possible divergent source. Encountering artists, from older generation to younger, both establishing a dialog with each other, and also who are completely distinct from each other, is only a reflection of this big tree of life identity.”

In the exhibition within the fair where a part of Turkish Contemporary art will be presented; the participating artists, coming from different disciplines in order regarding the birth dates;

Çağla Cabaoğlu Art Gallery will introduce the first issue of the international publication named “ATTACK”, which aims to introduce Turkish Contemporary Art, in its booth in SHANGHAI CONTEMPORARY fair.

ATTACK, is planned to be published specifically for international fairs and aims to introduce Turkish art abroad, and its first issue will published in Turkish, English and Chinese.
